Data DownloadCross section survey data, stage/discharge data (including manual measurements of stage) and time series of levels (not corrected for atmospheric pressure) may be downloaded here (400kb). (For details on using the data click here.)
Land Use / Management ChangesLand use / management changes have taken place in the Hareden and Losterdale tributaries and in the headwaters. Fences were erected to limit stocking to help maintaining upland habitats on the moors of Losterdale, Upper Langden, and Hareden. Mixed broadleaf trees have been planted in the riparian zones of Swine Clough (Losterdale), Hareden and Upper Langden. Logging of coniferous trees has taken place in patches in the Hareden catchment. There is the possibility that these patches will be replanted with broadleaf species.
|Change>||Work carried out||% area affected|
|Stocking density||Feb 2009||85|
|Tree planting||March 2009||< 1|

Channel DescriptionThe channel cross-section at the instrument location is provided below. Datum is taken as the top of the diver access tube (red bar). Width is measured from the left-hand side bank when looking downstream, with locations to left of the diver tube taken as negative and those to the right positive.
Details from an MSc student project are available here. (Note, the information above takes precedence over the student report.)
